red light during early morning

Hello
So I'm wondering... is it ok to use a red light early in the morning to start slowly rising tempts? Instead of blinding them with bright lights right away...

I don't think it is really necessary. It is a nice thought though but I think just turning on their lights is fine. Most likely by the time you turn on the lights your chameleon has been up for awhile. Atleast mine are always awake when I turn them on.

Some people put their basking light on a timer with a dimmer. In some seasons I bet your cham is already partially awake by the time the lights come on, as they are sensitive to the general daylight level in the room.

But, as chams drop their metabolic rate to sleep their brain is also slow and pretty non-responsive. They are not going to be startled awake by a light. If you TOUCH a sleeping cham it might startle it.

I was wondering since mine sometimes gives me a dirty look when I turn on the light usally right after he looks at the light and blinks a few times...
