There's been a few threads lately touching obliquely on this topic... A blue Nosy Be is a blue Nosy Be, and a Nosy Faly is a Nosy Faly, but it seems a red bar Ambilobe can be red, or blue, or both at different times. My surmise, based on little or no data, is that red vs. blue barring is not under the same level of genetic control as some of the other morphs. Going out on a limb, I wonder whether it is somewhat inaccurate to refer to red bar and blue bar as if these are fixed, determinite attributes. I'd particularly appreciate input from people who have bred Ambilobes of known bloodlines and observed the coloring-up of several offspring. Muchas gracias.
