Receptive Coloring or no?

Hello everyone i am thinking of breeding my female veield chameleon and would really enjoy a first clutch of eggs. I have done some reasearch, talk to experienced chameleon breeders and got a lot of help. Before i try to breed Clea i want to see what you guys think. Is she ready? She is about 10 months old and is going really strong. She has laid an infertile clutch a couple months ago. Below are some pics. Leave your comments and any rude comments would not be dealt with:)

She looks ready to me, but she'll be the judge. If youve fed her a proper diet, and she is 150% health wise after laying that first clutch, I would show her to a male, and if she doesn't reject him, let her do her thing. But waiting would hurt either. She looks large and healthy.

Stefan you don't mean gravid coloring. You mean receptive coloring. What we are hoping for is gravid coloring soon.:):) She looks like she is ready to me, hope all goes well.

You can likely expect another clutch in about 2 months if you haven't made any changes to her husbandry to stop it...or if you don't mate her.

I would recommend not mating untill she is at least a year old. Clea's only what 7 or 8 months now. The eggs take the calcium that the female still needs.

Kinyogia- I have made changes. I have a new cage for her, and i am on a very important feeding schedule and i meant infertile clutch

Jann- Yeah i think i may need to wait and she is about 10 months now

As jannb said I would recommend waiting until a year or more and keep in mind that every clutch shortens their life.

She was born in Febuary of this year and has been in my care from March. I guess i will just wait until next march or so. Yes i do know each clutch shortens their life

I suggest you read Julies thread on the cost of raising 69 baby veilds before even considering breeding, are you ready for this? Its not something to be taken so lightly.
