Receptive Behaviour Questions

So may 7.5 month old Nosy Be Panther started turning receptive about a week ago. She has turned to hues of peach and pink. The main question I have is what is normal receptive behaviour? She is going absolutely nuts in her enclosure. She is pacing back and forth, up and down. She is all over the place all day long and does not bed down till around 9-10 at night. Normally she is bedding down around 8. She is wearing me out! LOL! I have placed a laying bin in there just in case she might be gravid, though she seems to not be displaying gravid colors, and she has taken no interest at all in the bin. Another concern I have is her aggressive behaviour. Ever since her colors changed she has been really aggressive when I try to get my hands anywhere near her. Don't get me wrong, she has never voluntarily came out of her enclosure but she never use to try and bite me every time I reached for her before. Is this behaviour temporary during receptiveness or is this out of the ordinary? And will she eventually calm down?

For my female, yes that sounds pretty normal (with the exception of the aggression, but that may depend on the personality of each girl). When she is receptive she is just go, go, go all over her cage all day long. So much so, that when I had all the cage doors open to clean she made a run for it and got herself into my male's cage, where they mated. So it seems normal for them to really get active, looking for a mate.

She should calm down after it passes and moves on to making eggs, after this receptive period.

Thanks a lot! That makes me feel so much better about her hyperactiveness. LOL! As far as her grumpiness goes, hopefully that will cool down after she gets back to normal. Of course, she has always been a bit of a grump from the since the day I got her.:p
