Rear of Casque Folding Out

I'm not sure if this is normal and I understand that the rear left and right can fold/bend..I look at my brother's Veiled's casque and the rear folds when he turns his head left or right, but both sides goes straight back when he's looking forward.

Mine on the other hand just stays folded out on both sides. I tried to take a clear picture, I hope it helps.

I'm not sure what exactly that particular veiled is doing, but they can move the lobes on the sides of their casques. Some veileds will flare them out when they get upset.

The thing is those lobes of his are permanently flared out. So I'm wondering if that's normal? I've searched so many different pictures of Veiled chams and I don't see any of their casque lobes flared out unless they're turning their heads in that direction.
