Really frustrated, what should I do?

Well, the title says it all. I've been enjoying my work, and everyone in there seems to be knowledgable on the care of chameleons and all of the other critters we have. Recently we got a bunch of new guys from another store, I've only worked with them the one day so even though I'm not getting good vibes some seemed to know what they were talking about. Well, was I prooven wrong! A few days ago we sold a female veiled chameleon-I didn't know, I wasn't there at the time-but I hoped she'd gone to a good home.
The guy who bought her came in the other day with some concerns, and I discovered some horrible news.
One: The person who had sold the cham to him had said right off the bat that the cham was male. I know she is female, I and others have sexed her.
Two: The salesman had said that she could be kept in a medium glass enclosure (which is unfortunetly what we have our current cham in, though I do make an effort to keep every other aspect of his husbandry tip top)
Three: Not only did he say thirty second mistings! Most horribly at all, that she should be fed 3-6 crickets every three days!!!! This is a 4 month old baby chameleon! I almost cried when I'd heard that.

I was so glad that I had learned of this this soon. The guy had done some reserch and that made me quite happy he had. So I told him what was needed, (feedings daily of about 1 dozen or more crickets), three daily misting of 5-15 mins each. I said he could keep her in the terrarrium for a short period of time, but that it would be best to get a screen terrarium that was tall as she'd get very large. He was upset because he had gotten the cage for over 200$ and I know you can get a large screen cage for just over 100$. I also directed him to this site for more info.

I hope if he is on here he sees this and people are able to help him! This guy was a victim of poor knowledge on the part of the store. I am just ashamed that it was my store as we've always been so good at our upkeep. I'm seriously considering leaving the store and working at another one.

Let this be a notice for any considering chameleons as a pet...do your reaserch!!!

You should put a big sign on the Chameleons saying "Do Not Sell BEFORE consulting (insert your name here)"

Then hopefully the clueless sales people will stick to selling people bags of dogfood and leave the more complicated things to you.

Good job for trying to turn things around at your store!

Maybe post a care sheet or a "checklist" for the chameleons and their needs in the break room for other people to read?

I hope so. I have a bad feeling that the person who sold the cham is my new supervisor. And after working with him for one day I can safely say I'm worried. :S I'm working today so hopefully i'll be able to talk to him.

Hey, supervisor or not shouldn't be an issue. You don't have to lay into the guy. He should be smart enough to know that he doesn't know EVERYTHING about all kinds of animals.

Just tell him you know a lot about chameleons, and when you sell them, there's some really specific things the buyer needs to know. Try and teach him. If he's a good supervisor, he'll take the advice. You don't want to phrase it to him, "Hey, you really screwed up yesterday when you sold that chameleon!".

HA HA HA he was a terrible manager! and i was really pissed and was really stupid, prolly could have gotten fired if we was a REAL manager
