hello I'm new to the forum but not new to reptiles or chams had a cb Tamatave(now) (back then red phase) panther about 13 years ago that lived for 7 years in a 40long with 4x1x4foot screen topper anyways things have changed for the better now and from what I've seen/ read screen cages are the way to go so I've got 2, 24x24x48 screened cages with doors and flip lower doors and 2 18in 5.0 reptisun florescent bulbs and fixtures 2 zoo med infared 100 watt bulbs and fixtures stf miner-all vitamins, rep-cal herptivite, rep-cal calcium with d3 , reptivines ficus trees manzaneta branches drippers my question is how are you all setting up your cages are you making holes in the screen to hold vines, or branches are you drilling holes in the frame to wire them up how are you setting it up i, i don't want to mess up these nice screen cages
help!!:confused::confused: thanks jeff

Hey triumphfreak, you only need one 5.0.
Everything else sounds really good.
You may need to include a clcium w/o D3.
Your Miner-All may include it. Check to see if it the (o) or (i).
The (o) is just calcium and th (i) had D3 in it.
I use a pen to poke holes in my screen.
It leaves a nice circle and I use bread ties to attach my vines.
The pen wont break the screen, so later on if you dont like where your branch is located you can pull the screen back into place.
Just use a needle to slide it back.

-good luck

I have those sand blasted grape vines you can buy at reptile stores and i sawed the bottom part and drilled a screw from the frame to hold the branch. I aslo have those fake bendable vines in which I used simple wire to hold them at the corners of the cage and then wire it to other grape vines. Those wires are just wrapped around the frames of the cage so that they don't destroy the cage mesh. I also had to create one hole at the very top of one of my cages so that I can put one of those fake bendable vines running from the top of the cage. I'm also going to have to make another hole soon to set up my auto mister system in the cages.

great thanks for the pen tip the screen will support the weight of an adult panther ok?? great, sorry i have 2 cages with 1 light each i have miner-all i, why rep-cal with out d3
thanks again jeff

You are supplementing with two kinds or calcium with D3.(Minerall and Rep-cal)
Chameleons can overdose on D3.
So twice a week use D3 and two days a week supplement with a calcium that dosent have d3.

thanks i planned on doing them on different days i'll get miner-all without d3
next time
plan
herpavite mon and thurs
rep-cal tues and fri
miner-all (with out d3) wed and sat

thanks for pointing that out about the minre-all i thought i got the one with out d3 i'll have to exchange it
thanks jeff

That is my scheduel, but some people on this site say you only need the vitamin twice a month.
So, I guess it is up to you.
If you want you can add another day of calcium and lose a herptavite.
