My house at 77f with a 60w bulb and about 12" from basking spot put it about 82f-84f. I use a rachet rope for grow lights to raise and lower my heat lamp. Super easy and fast to adjust temps as needed.
You might have to experiment to find a wattage that works for your cage and the ambient temperature. It varies on height from the basking spot, your location, temperatures in the house, etc...
Right now I'm using a 40 watt and it's making a good ambient temperature and basking spot, but it's also a cooler 70 outside today from the rain. Lately I've had to turn it off because it's been so warm.
I generally use a 60 watt for a basking temp above 90, but I like to keep a few different bulbs around just in case. If you are able to adjust the position of the lamp you can move it a bit closer or farther away to get the desired temp. It definitely depends on a few factors.
