Well i have put my set up like this the base layer is hydroballs then i used some screen on top of that.Then i used ECOEARTH for my top layer now heare is the question should i have used some charcole on the screen and then used some more screen and then the ecoearth everything seems to be going good

I have my pygmies set up with hydroballs, landscape fabric (screen), then the eco earth. I didn't use charcoal, but I know some folks do.

I have been reading around and i keep seeing that you should but i'm not changeing something that is working thanks helps that you have the same set up

I've used this same combo in 4 different vivs with no problems. My husband goofed this last time and didn't use enough hydroballs, so my soil stays more damp than I want it, but it's still working out well for the pygs. Is that what you're putting in yours?
