Ok. Just got back from the vets. I have several issues and i will try to stay on the point.
First. Amadaous my Nosy Be. Fine and healthy until last wk when i noticed him rubbing his eye so hard he was tearing bark off the wood branches. His drinking is fine; eating was fine until yesterday when he refused his hornworm. No weight loss, very little dehydration, his right eye did show a little inflammation but i think that is due to his rubbing it. He has been keeping his eyes closed more and more, he does open them when you go near him though. Temps are 89/70, humidity 70/40, nothing new in his cage, no new anything to stress him out. New lineaur tube UVB. Vet says eye doesn't look infected just swollen a little on the right side, which is the first one i noticed, poop came out clean. I asked him about doing a blood test or a mouth swab and he said he didn't think it was necessary. Of course he didn't know that chams shouldn't see each other or they wil get stressed out, keep this in mind when you pick a vet from the recommended list of herp vets. I have been rinsing his eyes out with water 2-4 x day just in case and i have ordered Terramycin but it hasn't arrived yet. Vet presribed Baytril at .02 mil 1 x day for 10 days. What do ya think? Do i just give him the Baytril? Or do i use the Terramycin as well? Or do i just take him to another vet? Also, does anyone have any hints or tips on how to give the baytril to a hornworm? I've never done it before. Do you just stick it anywhere? I have another sick cham with Coccidia but i will start another thread on that instead of mixing.
Thanks in advance,
Debby
