Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon -Veiled chameleon, 2-3 inches, less than a year. In my care for 4 days.
Handling - Approximately 20 minutes every 2-3 days.
Feeding - I have been told to do 50 medium size brown crickets a week. The chameleon eats about 5-7 a day.
Supplements - None.
Watering - I have a bowl of water on the cool side of the cage. I refresh it daily. I sprinkle water throughout the cage via wash-cloth daily.
Fecal Description - Brown thick strands, lubricated once expelled.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - I have an aquarium. The tank is 19 inches by 10 inches by 13 inches. The cage bottom has sand and the animal has sticks and plants for it to climb on. I have two lamps perched above the tank's screen. I was told by the pet store that since it is summer, I am only in need of a heating lamp. The tank is position across the room where the sunlight can hit the tank.
Lighting - The lamp I have is a 50W daylight spot that is "for desert and tropical terrarium, a broad spectrum daylight spot lamp for terrariums, creates a basking area for thermo-regulation, increases ambient air temperature, and stimulates natural behaviour through UVA rays". I have no lamp that provides UVB. I also do not have a lamp for the night. Not knowing whether or not to keep the lamp on, I have left the lamp on 24 hours.
Temperature - Under the heat lamp 95.5F, in the cooler area 90.9F.
Humidity - I am unsure about the humidity level. I take a face-clothe and ring it out over the age, sprinkling it all over the cage at least once a day.
Plants - Fake plants, one so far, hung beneath the heat lamp
Placement - My tank is located on the lower shelf of a bookshelf, on the floor basically, directly across from my patio door.
Location -Pointe-Claire, QC (h9r 3h4)

Current Problem - Lighting 1) Do I need a black light/Night light for the chameleon?
2) how long do I leave the heat lamp on for? (the day one)
3) is the position of tank okay being across the room rather that directly under the window?

ok so you dont want anything in the bottom of the cage, no lights at night, you need uvb, you prob dont need much heat on a tank that size, you are gong to want to fill out the how to ask for help form so members can get you going in the right direction.

what type of cham is it?

Thank you Hoj, I shall. I replaced the original post with the help sheet. It is also a veiled chameleon.

I was told by the pet store that since it is summer, I am only in need of a heating lamp. The tank is position across the room where the sunlight can hit the tank. The lamp I have is a 50W daylight spot that is "for desert and tropical terrarium, a broad spectrum daylight spot lamp for terrariums, creates a basking area for thermo-regulation, increases ambient air temperature, and stimulates natural behaviour through UVA rays". I have no lamp that provides UVB. I also do not have a lamp for the night. I have had this arrangement for about 4 days.

So here are my questions

1)Is this okay?
2) Do I need a Night light for the chameleon?
3) how long do I leave the heat lamp on for?
4) is the position of tank okay being across the room rather that directly under the window?

The pet store is incorrect. You DO need the UVB lamp, but depending on how warm your room gets you may not need the heat lamp (or, you could set it on a timer that turns it on just for a morning warm up only). Daylight from across a room through a window will not provide the UV the cham needs every day. You don't need a night light at any time of year unless your room gets colder than about 55 F.
