I read that around 81 degrees is good for female veiled chameleon(she is almost a year old). I have a zoo med 60 watt basking bulb in a double fixture with a 5.0 uvb bulb. The temp on her branch which is about 8 inches below the light was still about 90 degrees so i had a extra fixture which dial on it where you could turn down the power. So i swapped the cords and now i got it sitting right at 81.

I also have uv fluorescence behind the cage just to add some extra lighting. Is the uv good or bad for them?

Can you please clarify your setup? You a double light bulb fixture on top of your cage...one is a basking light and the other is a CFL UVB light. AND you have a linear fluorescent UVB light bulb on the back of the cage?

yes i have a double fixture on top of the cage with a basking light and then a 5.0 uvb light and then i have a normal house linear florescence light on the on the wall behind the cage.

I've never used the dual light canopies for CFL UVB bulbs. I've only ever used linear fluorescent UVB bulbs. Here's what I use and you can can adjust your setup if you wish. I use a dual linear fluorescent canopy with a UVB and grow light bulb. Then I use a separate dome fixture for my basking light. I've heard UVB cfl bulbs are safe nowadays but I like my tried and true methods.
