questions about 2 - 3 months old male veiled

My new veiled arrived yesterday...
Im just a bit confused with temperatures and humidity.
I have read the successful keeping of veiled chameleons blog... and it says that temperature should be 80 degrees on basking spot.
aaand... I find that not warm at all..
Anybody here that has experience with this.... should I raise a bit more the temperature?
I keep thinking he doesnt warms up enough.. his colors are brownish..
also.. how humid should the enclosure be?
and last one... He seems to be eating ok.... How many crickets should he be eating in this stage?

aaand... I find that not warm at all..
Anybody here that has experience with this.... should I raise a bit more the temperature? The middle of the cage should be 80ish, and the bottom should be between 60 and 70
I keep thinking he doesnt warms up enough.. his colors are brownish.. You just got him yesterday, so part of it could be that he is stressed out, and if the basking spot is only 80, he probably is chilly.
also.. how humid should the enclosure be? Humidity should range between 60 and 80%
and last one... He seems to be eating ok.... How many crickets should he be eating in this stage? I fed mine about 15 a day until he turned 6 months. It all depends on how much he will eat, because he'll be growing a lot this next bit. Also, make sure your gutloading your crickets with lots of fresh fruits and veggies, what they eat, your cham eats.

Congratulations on your new cham have you named him yet?? Also, what lighting are you using and how big is your cage, and is it screen or glass??? How are you providing water, and how many times a day? Are you using any supplements? Calcium without D3 at every feeding is important, along with a multivitamin 2x a week, and Calcium with D3 once a month.

Thanks a lot for your quick response...
I already have everything going...
5.0 reptisun linear light... basking light... much natural foliage (photos and schferra), reptibreeze cage, mist king running great and drainage.
I gutload my crickets with dry gutload recipe from sandrachameleon, and I also give them good wet gutloads greens and fruits... and use calcium without d3 everyday, with d3 twice month and repcal twice month aswel. switching weeks between d3 and vitamins.
Ive been getting ready for 6 months.

Its just that I found that the temperatures that Ive found seems to be not warm enough.
I will raise it up just like you said =)

.

Most of your advice is great, but those temps are hot even for a full grown male Veiled. For a 2-3 month old then 80F is a good basking temp. For an adult then 90F is enough.

I agree. You will cook him at 90 and 105.
