So this morning I woke up and did my normal head count. I counldn't find Big Mama one of my rudis girls. I seached and searched. Then I heard a small gasp behind a plant. So I looked and found her on the floor of the cage taking her last couple of breaths. I sat and wondered what I did wrong. She was fine. I never had any problems with her. So I started questioning myself about what kind of keeper I was. How could I let her die? What things could I have done to prevent this? As I was picking her up I caught a small movement in the plant right above her. I knew my other girl was on the opposite side of the cage basking. So I looked thru the plant and found a little baby...then another...then another...7 in total. I disected Big Mama and found 2 more babies inside of her but no luck. So maybe I'm not that bad of a keeper? Well, all I can do now is make sure these little ones make it...
