Question about veiled chameleon spine bumps

Hi, I have a question about my ~18 month old veiled chameleon.

Some of the bumps along the back of his spine have started to fall off during his last skin shedding. Should I be concerned?

Any replies much appreciated.

Yes perhaps Im afraid. The bumps shouldnt be falling off, if they are sloughing off with dead skin, its possible he may have sustained heat damage from getting too near the heatsource for too long. I've heard of this happening.

This may not be the case, however I cannot think of another obvious reason that should happen , just off the top of my head, Im not a vet. It cant hurt to double check with a reliable instrument the temperature at the closest point your cham can get to the heat light.

Closely inspect your chams spine and if this appears to be the case, please see your family vet as soon as possible and move the heatsource a little further away.

:)

Pictures please....

Would it be possible to get some pictures? An overall shot and then some closer pictures showing us what you are talking about? Thanks!
