question about live plant soil

i just bought a golden pothos plant from lowes. they have it planted with a little pole type thing so its already growing upward. i'm about to begin repotting it and getting all the fertilized soil out of it. can i replant it in zoo med's eco earth loose coconut fiber substate as i did with my pothos for my frogs?

I've never used that before but assuming it would work.

You could. A lot of the soil will fall off the roots when you are washing the leaves anyways (especially the underside of the leaves). You can replace that lost loose soil with coco or vermic or organic growing medium. You dont have to be fanatic about removing all of the old soil, especially if you are going to cover the soil / new growing medium with rocks (a good plan).
