Question about hornworms

I ordered some hornworms from Mulberry Farms and they were sent to me at a pretty large size to start with but over the past few days have gotten a lot bigger.. My veiled is 8--9 months old and I gave him one today that seemed to take forever for him to digest. He also keeps opening his mouth for a few seconds at a time (he's not in a warm spot/basking). Is it safe for him to be eating such large worms?? Does that behavior seem normal? Any advice is much appreciated!

I wouldnt worry too much over this. They do sometimes have eyes bigger than there mouths but generally they choose prey appropriate for them. IF the animal is starving thats another story ;)
