question about age to breed

I currently have a 4 month old nosy mitsio male from panther company's kush line. Panther company currently has an amazing looking 8 month female from they're yellow submarine line and they told me they would give me $50 off since I already purchased a male. Everything I have read says the female should at least be a year old before breeding and the male should at least be 8 months.

Do you think this would be a wise purchase being 4 months older? And what age do all you experienced breeders usually breed your males and females for the first time?

Thanks

Shaun

I highly recommend over a year and of good size/weight for both. This is especially important for the female. Her body is still growing and the eggs take vitamins and nutrients away from her that she needs to develop correctly. Also fertile eggs are harder for them to lay because they are bigger.

Jann I completely and fully understand that. In your opinion do you think I would be better off to get another female around the same age or do you think the four months really even makes a difference?

I've also attached a picture of the female in question

What's your take? Looking at the tail I don't see a bulge but it isn't necessarily skinny either. I mean they are professionals and they said she's a female. As much as I want to take they're word, she is so pretty I was skeptical at first. I'd like to see what some of the others around here think too male or female?
