Pygmy egg questions

My Brev laid her eggs in the Sphagnum moss and not in the soil bin?! Do I need to move these eggs to an incubator? I was planning on leaving them in the soil and letting them hatch before this. She kept favoring that corner and I tried to pack the moss to discourage digging their but apparently she won

Any help if you've had experience with Pygmies, thank you.

I usually take them out because its possible for unwanted critters to get to them, over watering/drowning, etc. You could leave them in there and let them hatch in the enclosure but again crickets can get to them and eat them while theyr hatching or whatever. Brev eggs hatch in normal room temperature anywhere between 60-90 days so u dont need an incubator. Get some vermiculite and a little tupperware container just put them in there carefully. Make sure to mark the tops of them with a pen or someting and make sure the top always faces upward evn after moving them. If no vermiculite some coco fiber will do but just make sure no little nasty bugs get in the container

Thank you. I'm kind of in a panic, I don't have an incubator. I keep my home at 75 for the comfort of all my chams, do you think a deli cup with vermiculite will do at my room temperature? Should I keep a prob thermometer in the cup? I can go to the store an get some vermiculite right now.

Yes, that will work. Try not to rotate the eggs when you remove them. Place a small dot on the top to make sure that they don't move. Be sure your vermiculate doesn't have Miracle Gro in it. I can't find any without it, so had to go with pool sand. perlite will work too.

75 is good. As long as u got a container to keep humidity in there it should be fine. But do make a little hole for some air exchange. Keep the vermiculite moist but not drenched and it should b ok. I have a thermometer in with my 2 clutches right now and its good to keep track of the temps in there but honestly i dont find it necessary here in CA :). Dont spray the eggs directly and the only changes u should see in the next few months is the size of the eggs. Anything other than that im sure we will hear about :D

Thank you for the help. This will be my first clutch and I guess I'm kind of a spaz, she's still laying as we speak. I even shooed the kids out of the house so there would be no noise to disturb her.

Keep a good eye on ur girl for the next 2-3 weeks too! One of my brevs laid a clutch of 4 and another clutch of 4 yesterday (17 days apart). So im going to start looking for some hatchlings frequently around Sept 5 (60 day mark) but i expect them sometime around Sept 20 (75 days) so u should look for the same :)

She laid four eggs. I moved them to a deli cup with moist vermiculite. I hope all goes well. Here are some pics, tell me if I'm doing anything wrong so I can fix it right away. Now where should I put this cup? Should it be kept dark, and what about a draft from ceiling fans. Maybe the end table cabinet of my dresser?

PNsSp- Thanks for the help and I'm glad your a bit ahead of me so I can ask questions, if you don't mind of course.:D

Is this too warm for my pygmy eggs? Someone from Europe told me that I need to keep the eggs at 70F and not higher. I moved them to my open walk-in closet and they are now 74.8, is this okay?

sry i been busy these passed few days... made a drive from SF to LA ... gunna go back again tomorrow... anyway, a little cooler is good and its ok for temps to spike a bit every now and then but try not to have it be a common thing. Ive found these guys eggs to be pretty hardy and as long as uve fed mom properly gutloaded crickets then hatching should be pretty flawless
