Purple glory tree

Anyone know if this plant is safe? Can't find any threads or anythind about it.

Wow its deffinately purple lol cant tell you if its safe tho ....Could you tell me if a "maple tree" is safe?????

I have one of those in my backyard. I'm not 100% sure it's safe, but I do know the pedals fall off with the slightest breeze. A stunning flower for sure. Leaves are soft and a little "fuzzier" than the normal ficus type leaf. Hardy, but will tolerate a frost. I've had mine for close to 8 years now. It lower light it tends to grow tall and thin. If you prune it correctly it can be a very nice large bush or small tree.

Maybe someone else can chime in on their safety regarding herps?

Actually, according to http://www.hear.org/pier/wra/pacific/tibouchina_granulosa_htmlwra.htm , they are not toxic to animals or humans.

The latin name for the plant is Tibouchina granulosa in case you wanted to find more accurate information.
