Would any of you from the puget sound area (aka middle of washington state) be interested in doing a meet?
I know a few of you live in the area.

We could do a BBQ on a lake or something nice with all this great weather.

Maybe the local members just have not seen this thread yet.

Time it right and I will make my way up there. It not too far away , whats a couple of states.

I am in Issaquah :) I know there are breeders in Gig Harbor and Graham and one other cham fan in Bothell. There are also some Portland people and I saw someone post from Seattle, oh and Puyallup, so yes we are here!

I would be interested in a meet. You could also post on CL to catch those enthusiasts who aren't on the forum.

That's a bit of a haul for me. We only make it over to that side of the state a couple times a year. Not nearly as much as I would like, but it's so hard to find someone I trust to watch all the "kids" while I am away. :(

I'll respond.....

Hey there....I've mentioned to a few people that live around here that I am going to try to have an open house in August. A lot of people have wanted to come over and see my stuff. We all do "meet" each year at the Puyallup Reptile Expo in October. Nick Barta, the Gesang's and Royden are people I am in frequent contact with. They would try to get together with you for sure. I would be happy to meet with everybody for dinner some evening before that. Don't be bummed over the lack of response. Royden has been super busy with a new job and I've been off the forum for a few days. Plus Lizard Lounge posts don't show up on the front page. You have to look for them within the Lizard Lounge forum to find it. I just happened to look today. I rarely do though. You can PM the three people I mentioned above.....

You're right, Ryan. Somehow I totally missed this thread.

Elliot and I have talked about this. We would love to do it, and have even liked the idea of monthly or quarterly meetings. The problem is our schedule doesn't often allow for weekend events. Elliot is a lay Pastor in our local church and we also teach preteens and teens in the youth program. If you do schedule something on a weekend, however, we should be able to attend, or drop in for a couple of hours, in midafternoon on a Saturday or Sunday. Like between 2 and 6 PM.

It would be great fun, I'm certain. And Nick Barta can bring us all some bugs!

Catherine- that is so great of you to open your doors to us all. It would be terrific! Elliot and I can't wait to see your guys. Those Nosy Falys especially:).

that would rock! :)

The open house is a great idea Catherine! I also missed this thread. I am in Bothell. I think we should all converge and bring our chams for one great big photo shoot ;)

Sounds like a ton of fun. I'll likely be at the pyuwallup show this year.

Catherine - you should charge at the door. :) I swear there are more eye popping animals at your house then any zoo I've been to.

Royden, you hussy. You said the same thing about my place.

:p

-love ya man!

I will hopefully be able to make it for the Puyallup show, but otherwise it's just too dang far to drive for me. Being on the very East side of the state has it's draw backs a lot. :(

Open House Still On :)

Hi all! I've been off the computer several days. My husband who has various health issues is in the hospital again this week. He got super dizzy and weak and fell and could not get up. I had to call 911. He's had this issue before and they can't figure out what it is. If they don't figure out what it is after one more day we are going to transfer him to the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle. Two different hospitals in Tacoma have not been able to figure out the source of his periodic dizziness and weakness. The only good news is that they were able to rule out some really bad things with all the scans and tests they did.

I was planning to do the open house in mid to late August. I'm now shooting for the last weekend in August. I'm going to see what happens this week with my husband and go from there. I was really looking forward to seeing people and just having a good time talking about chams and sharing some yummy food with you all. The weather should still be great then. Once I figure my husband's situation out I will try to see how many people can make it on a couple of different Saturdays. I'll pick the Saturday that the most number of people could attend. We have so many more people in our area now. I'd like to use the event as an opportunity to discuss starting our own local area chameleon keepers club like the South Bay group has. Sandy Gesang and I talked about it a couple of months ago.

Will get back to this thread with some dates as soon as I can :)
