Protean Cages

My chameleon is about 3-4 months old...Hes still a little guy.
Im planning ahead for a bigger cage once he gets bigger. Im in northern Cali where it gets 100+ outside in the summer, and the winter it hits the low 40's. When I run the heater it completely dries out the whole house of humidity. A lot of the chameleon owners here use those Zoo Med glass chameleon cages to hold in moisture. Then again on here, your summoned to hell if your chameleon is seen in any sort of glass cage. Anyway...Has anyone every purchased any glass tanks from Protean cages? He drills holes all different sizes so crickets dont escape....Im thinking about getting the 2x2x4 foot one with holes drilled in it.

I would not recommend glass for a veiled chameleon. Veileds do not require that much humidity that a few good mistings a day wouldn't handle. Get a nice screen cage from LLLReptiles.

The large Protean enclosures seem absolutely wonderful to me. Well ventilated. what is important is keeping the right environment inside the enclosure, not so much whether it is screen or glass or wood or whatever. I make my own cages, but if i didnt it would be Protean enclosures all the way.

We've had this talk about these cages and we've all agreed that they are wonderful :)
and that you might have adjust your husbandry a bit but they do work great.
