Hello! Many people say that the minimum size of cages is 24x24x48, but that is WAY too big for my cham. From nose to vent, he is smaller than my index finger (maybe like 2in) i was thinking like a 20x20x36 ? sounds reasonable right?
(he is a Jackson)
Thanks!

That large cage size is for an adult. How old is your chameleon? Nose to vent being roughly 2 inches sounds pretty young.

A 2x2x4 is appropriate for a jackson. Im sure they could be kept in smaller, but the bigger the better! Mine loves her 2x2x4;)

Yeah, that's the problem. He is really young. I have no clue of how old he is, but if I had to guess, I would say like 6 mo. ?

There's no problem keeping him in something smaller for now, but you will have to eventually size up. I kept my Jackson's in a cage that large and he loved it, he was always patrolling it.

The bigger the cage the better for an adult, but yours does not sound like it is. I would say 18x18x36 should be the minimum, as long as he is finding food he should be fine.

Ok great! Its just that Im building a cage soon for him and I want it the best possible. I can put him in a 18x18x36 and then switch him to a big boy cage when nessesary. For the food, i can have like two feeding cups since he's so small. Ill prob make the cage in march, I have too much to do this month!!
