what do you mean more than mist? is it spraying water? i have the same thing. i to had trouble getting started with it but soon after it was working great. but mine always sprayed a fine mist. maybe it is possible that you have or the nozzle came a little unscrewed. im not sure if this is true or not, but give it a try to see if it will tighten up. anyways hope it works for you and good luck
I bought a timer at lowes. But yes the 2 nozzles the pump came with just has 1/4" pipe hanging out of the end. It releases a steady stream of water when the pumps on so something isn't right with it. its didn't even come with diagrams or a part list so not sure if its just missing something. Ill play with it more tonight and hopefully figure it out.

Here is an e-mail I got from Bob, 2nd paragraph talks about the misters:
"Yes the PM-50 is available. We hope to get it up on the website by September. Until we get it up on our website, you can order the Pro Mist model PM-60 and then in the special instructions box on the order page, tell us to disregard the order and instead you wish to buy the PM-50. We will send you an e-mail for the actual order and process it accordingly. You can disregard any automated message saying the order was processed. We process all orders manually at our office. The message you will get is a feature in the shopping cart we can't turn off. The total you will be charged for the PM-50 is $129.95 + $14.95 S&H. You can also call us at 845-628-8960 and place your order over the phone if you prefer. We are usually in the office, M-F, 10-4 EST.
You can upgrade the PM-50 to our PM-MNH 90° nozzles which will provide a finer mist, lower water output and can be taken apart and cleaned when they clog, eliminating the need to have to periodically buy new nozzles. The PM-MNH upgrade is $6.95 per nozzle assembly. The standard nozzles that come with the PM-50 can’t be effectively cleaned, so would have to be replaced if they clog. We also have a reduced drip option for our premium nozzles which is $2.95 per nozzle assembly and we also have the standard nozzles available in a reduced drip upgrade which is an additional $1.00 per nozzle assembly. The reduced drip option is built into the nozzle assembly, so will work with any nozzle installed in the assembly. The standard reduced drip nozzles have the valve built directly into the nozzle."

Make sure you have it hooked up correctly. Should have 1 piece of the tubing connected to the first intake of the pump and to your reservoir. The second cut of tubing connects to the other side of the pump. Then use the L or T fitting at the end of that second piece. If your nozzles already have precut tubing then probably all you need to do is connect that tubing to the L or T fitting. Make sure the heads are screwed on tight.
If you are only using one nozzle, then you can just take that piece of tubing out of the nozzle and insert the nozzle onto the end of the second piece of tubing. Or use the L fitting at the end then connect it.

I am using a blue humidifier (room temp mist) with a 3" pvc up to the cage and to 45's to direct it in.
Those ultra sound foggers seem like more of a hassle.

Hi lonomac ,
I have just set up a PM60 literally 2 days ago and had the same problem...
What I found to be the cause of this was the INLET pipe ie reserviour to pump was not cut PERFECTLY square at the end as well as not being FULLY inserted into the pump inlet. I had to use quite a bit of force to insert the tube fully, although the outlet tube was quite easy to insert!
Initially before working out the probem, my mister was just a low pressure squirt, now it is working fine... It is essential that the tubes be cut square and fully inserted, that's the key.

Also, be sure not to remove the "loose" cuff-like plastic part on the inlet side of the nozzle that the hose actually gets pushed into. Sometimes it can be mistaken for something that is supposed to be removed.
