Pregnant Veil has not laid eggs

I need advice!
I have a female veil chameleon, Leafy, and she is 6 months. I noticed her a little desperate in her old cage. She was always at the bottom, didn't want to eat, and her belly got really big with bulges on her sides (It looks like eggs). She was like that for 2 days. I researched and I came to a conclusion that she might be ready to lay eggs. I read that females get a certain type of pattern (yellow spots, that she has) when they are pregnant. She hasn't been mated. I did a set up for her and she's been there for about 2 weeks without eatting. She hasn't dug . I've also noticed her trying to get out, i feel she doesn't like to be in there. I'm not sure if i put her in to early, maybe she is not ready. How long are females pregnant? how long do they take to dig and lay eggs? advice please

My veiled layer her eggs 38 days afte mating. I've heard that it could take around 40 days sometimes. My female wouldn't dig so I made a little starter hole. You might have to make a little starter hole so she can dig. You just take a little scoop of dirt with your hand and that's it. So don't worry if she isn't ready yet.

I always provide an opaque container about 12" deep by 12" x 8" full of moist washed playsand in the chameleon's cage once it is sexually mature and could lay eggs. This way the female has a place to dig when she is ready without having to disturb her. Once she starts digging intently she can be moved to the bigger container.

When the female hasn't been mated its hard to be sure when she is due to lay them. I don't like disturbing them to move them before they are ready.

Once she starts digging, do not let her see you watching her.

Is she scratching around but not really digging?

You might try digging a starter hole for her. Use your finger and push out a hole as long as you can make it, a couple of inches across.

i also had to dig a starter hole i made it about 3 inc or 4 inch diameter and 8 inch deep my girl filled mine and dug her own

She finaly laid eggs

Thank you everyone, She finally laid eggs, I'm guessing that I detected the symptoms too early. I just wasn't being patient enough.
