Possible Husbandry issue?(sp?)

LOl Cool vid, looks like you have it all covered, just wondering where the water goes?

P.s I dont see any sign of a burn at all. Lighting makes it hard to tell exactly what color he is. My first thought is its just fired up because theres a human with a video camera hanging around freaking it out.

If its fired up constantly it may be stressed by something in the room? movement?

a burn? i don't think so cuz at night he is all lit up like the 4th of july:p, and the water drips on the hibiscus his urates are pure white so i don't believe it is dehydration issue?
Thx for the complement.

HOw cold does it get at night? Veilds can take night temps down to the mid 60's no problem. Also a temp drop at night is good.

And the light may be disrupting his sleep.

The cham or the cage?

If its the cham, thats not good, he should green and calm while sleeping, something is stressing it. If its the cage, not good either, may be the problem, chams need darkness too (photoperiod)

Just a geuss ;)

Uhmm

Trying to think, the last time my cham went dark like that was when she was mad and really stressed, from the car ride home... she got really dark, was the right temp just mad i geuss she was.

Nice vid, i love all the posted stuff you did haha

I saw on the video that you have a night light for viewing. How long is that on for at night? Could this possibly be stressing him? (I watched it without audio so sorry if it was covered....I went off your little balloon captions)

i really couldnt see. if you could get some stills of him it would really help us all out, but a lot of people say 1ft for basking sites so maybe hes getting a slight skin burn, but then again i couldnt really tell

Veileds often go through a brown phase just before they're all grown up. One day, he might just stay that bright, sleep color, all day - usually aroud 15-18months of age for my guys.

OR, it coudl be stress. Try setting his cage up as high as it'll go. If the top of the cage is 6-7 feet off the gorund, and he's above you, it shoudl help tremendously. he difference is night and day sometimes.

As long as he dosent come within a few inches of the heating lamp it should be ok. Lighting at night is really an issue though and I now suspect its the reason hes stressed.
How long is it on for and how bright? Darkness is better but if you must stare at your sleeping cham (a bit boring after a while no? :)) then try to find dim light, a bulb with tinted glass (not painted) like purple moonlight or similar, and very low wattage, as far away as possible (you dont want heat at night unless its freezing). :)

pardon, but i ment he his not brown at night but more of what seems to be his normal colors while sleeping. i'll try to get some stills here in a sec, and also the basking temp is taken about 9 inches away from the lamp? and he is above eye view (kinda short, i am) i was thinking maybe its due to the lack of foilage uptop?

Good idea! More on that tho...

I have also seen pictures of a clutch of small Veilds and there was one rouge brown guy. Everyone else was green buy this one guy was brown...idk whats up with that but hey, it may explain the colors of your guy.

It's a black light so its not that bright and actually i only keep it on for about 30 min after lights out. and the night time temps get to the low 70's high 60's and thankx for the possitive feedback on the vid i did try to make it look not boring?

In that case, if its only while hes awake, It may be something else. Still, how long is there light on him for everyday? 12 hrs is probly enough, 14 mid summer.
Are they on timers? A regular sunup/sundown is just as important I think. Mine sets his habits around it.

Do you muck around with the cage much? handle it much? whats it routine? Is anything in the room while its awake? foot traffic?

Its almost impossible to tell whats the case. A still pic when hes not too active in the day, under good lighting without a flash will show his 'normal' (now) 'awake color' better.
They arnt always pale and bright, moods affect their color too, not nessearily, stress only.

Is it eating ok, behaving normally?

The lights are on timers for 12hrs. and they simulate a dusk and dawn. i don't handle it much at all, but there is traffic in the room but mainly me during the day and only for a few hours before classes. As far as eating goes i have noticed that he has not eaten much in the past day or two, only his supers not the crickets. His behavior seems to be normal he basks then goes down to cool off. Oh:eek:, there are two parrot cages to the left of his cage about 3-4ft. below and off to the left of the cages? ONe is a sun conure and the other is a Mustache parrot? could that be it?

ok so that should be a pic of him during the daytime when i first built his cage
