Po's adventure!

So this morning I fed Po like usual and handled all her needs, seems normal right? no.

I was out all day and the first thing I do when I come into my dorm room is look for Po and make sure every things well..

mmh it just so happens when I looked into her cage this fine evening, Po was no where to be found something I did notice however was that her cage door was open maybe an inch.

So I instantly searched my room, frantically might I add, for my darling Po

I took a step back to view my whole room and where do I see Po?
I see her underneath one of my desks clinging to some chords.. allll bright green and happy.

Po was not happy when mom had to put her back into her cage though.

THANK GOD, she didn't get hurt and I had nothing out that could have been harmful.

I don't know exactly how her day went but I'm guessing it was nice.

I was also just wondering why she's ONLY ever super bright green when she's outside of her cage exploring my room or when she's sleeping.
Anywho I thought I'd share my story of the day with you guys.

there could be literally hundreds of reasons why she seems to be darker while in her cage. the most obvious one would be that she doesn't like something in there, or the size of the cage.

either way, that's an incredibly cute story. i'm glad she's okay though, i'm sure it was one hell of a lesson and a scare for you

Aw man, that musta been a panic attack and a half... had our red tail boa do that to us the other day, thankfully he went no further than his feeding box...

And if she's always darker in her tank, try looking into a larger tank, or a plant to place just outside her tank so she can free range onto it and back into her tank maybe?

i agree with the nerd on this one ;) only joking man
but i have noticed the color change in my jackson as well, i honestly think my cham just enjoys the free rang time, and i usually monitor him while he does. only because i dont have a free range set up that is escape proof.

Another happy ending though :)

I think maybe she just prefers to be out.Ohhhh yes BIG lesson learned, I was terrified. I immediately thought oh god.. I'll never find her.

My guess would be she just wanted to get out and put on her pants, ;) lol
I would guess she's bored in her cage which could be due to no enough room to explore and keep her happy maybe throw a bunch of sticks in her cage like the picture I attached my Cham was trying to climb the walls before I put this in his cage now he just cruses all day checking things out!
Maybe you could think about hooking her up with a free range with a few pothos on plant hangers off the wall a over her cage and a basking lamp and a vine in and out of her cage so she can come and go freely maybe you just can't keep her down with the attitude she has! HTH a little!

I started a topic about y is my Cham darker in his cage, and people said to try and free range more,

That is a funny story I wonder what crazy things she got up to while she was out and about

Yeah I'll try putting more things in there, I free range her for 20 ins a day usually but since she has no plants she roams my room.

I know the feeling all too well...I was letting Tiger free range in the backyard one day, got caught up with one of my other boys then turned and he was gone. I frantically searched for about a half hour and was ready to accept that he was gone forever, until I decided to glance behind some plants at the end of the wall (that seperates me and my neighbors house), and there he was! I was so relieved.

Give Po a little more time to adjust, I'm not sure if free ranging is the answer. Some chams just take longer than others, but it will happen. I couldn't believe when Kiwi finally came around, but she did! Just gotta believe :D

haha well I was getting her food bowl today and she bit me pretty good on the back of my hand. hahaeh

I put a laying bin in there for her

she checked it out, tasted the sand.. despite my best efforts to stop her, she crawled around in it and then she was done.

I don't want to leave it in there all the time because i know she'll eat the sand
so how do I know when she's ready to lay?
I figured she would be now, she's all fat.
