Hello all,
I don't post much but I would like to start by saying this website is an AMAZING resource for any cham owners or anyone considering the purchase of a chameleon.
Currently, I have a one year old Veiled Chameleon named Manchester. Manchester wieghs approx 250 grams and has eaten like a pig up until about 3 weeks ago. A fecal float and sputum sample diagnosed him for coccidia (advanced stages) and trichonomas. He was prescribed Ponazuril (coccidia) and Metronidazole (trichonomas). Im just trying to get a second opinion on what you all think an appropriate dosage/schedule would be for these two drugs. I worry that my vet does not have the "chameleon experience" that I would prefer. The prescription is 3 days of treatment once daily followed by a 2 week rest period and repeat 3 more times. From my reading, I feel that a two week rest period may be too long especially for the ponazuril. Does anyone have any ideas?
After the first treatment he has began taking certain foods again but is still picky. Id be happy to supply more details as needed! Thanks in advance!
