Poisonous?

Is this plant safe for chameleons? And what is it called?

I believe that to be a bottlebrush plant ( Callistemon ).

According to this thread from 2013, it should be safe for chameleons, but to be safe/sure, I'd try to verify that by other than the source(s) used in the post.

I find 3 different callistemons listed as "non-toxic" on this veterinary site; "non-toxic" meaning:

This list contains plants that have not been reported as having systemic effects on the animals, nor intense effects on the gastrointestinal tract. Any plant material ingested by an animal (as when dogs and cats ingest yard grass) may produce signs of vomiting, depression, or diarrhea. These signs are generally mild and self-limiting and often do not require any treatment.

It does not mention chameleons or reptiles.

I know bees love them. As a kid I would sit on our roof and shoot bees with my BB gun.

In reality, it is probably a good choice. The texture of the leaves probably will prevent them from being eaten. They are pretty, but I do remember a sent to them, but this was a giant 30ft bush.
I actually may try some. I think you will need high light.
