Please Help!!

I am having trouble getting my baby veiled to eat. I have been trying everything. I have had him for 3 days and he has only eaten about 7 or 8 crickets. I have tried everything I know. I have even put him in a smaller container so he can get to the crickets easier. I have a clear plastic dish in his cage with crickets and even turned a few loose near him. I dont know what else to do. Anyone have any suggestions. Anything would help.

I would advice giving him lots of privacy. When I first got my baby Veiled he would not eat in front of me. It just takes some time for them to settle into a new home. You also have to make sure the crickets are small enough or he wont be able to eat them. Your veiled looks really tiny. You should be using small pinheads.

What are your temps? Too low and he might not want to eat, too high and he might not want to eat and you may roast him.

Also you said you use a clear cup to feed him. Use something that isn't see through or your cham might shoot his tounge at the cup and injure it.

My temps are around 80 for the cage temp, 85 to 90 in the basking area and humidity around 40 to 50. The crickets i am usin are small but dont know if they are pinhead crickets.

basking spot should be 80-82ish if your avatar is the tiny cham. Cage temps should be 70-75 ish-or average room temp. Hopefully you are using a digital thermometer to measure temps. If they are too high, you can quickly dehydrate them, and they will stop eating.

85 is what your basking spot should stay at. When he gets older 90 is an ok basking spot for an adult male veiled.

Way to hot. 80 should be tops for a baby. Get those temps down and buy some pinheads.
