Hello, I've been having trouble keeping heat in for my Jackson chameleon. You guys think I should leave a UVB light on as we'll as a heat lamp on.

Thanks

Hello, when you say should you leave a uvb light on as well as your heat light, do you not have both on for 12 hours each day? If you are unable to keep heat to the level needed get the next watt bulb. If you have a 60 watt, get a 75 watt, or if you have a 50 watt get a 60 watt. Just change sizes until you get the correct temp. What temps do you have now and what are you hoping for?

uvb bulbs dont produce heat.

What is the current basking temp for your jacksons?

Also, BOTH lights should be on a 12 hour on, 12 hour off schedule.

No lights at night are needed, as this can interrupt their sleeping cycle.

I want to keep it at about 75 degrees, since there's supposed to range from 70 to 80 degrees. I do have a 60 watt bulb, I do have a red heat bulb as well. Which one would you guys prefer to use. Te red heat bulb is 100 watts.

Thanks

No red bulbs at all.

If the 60 doesnt get you 78-80, try a higher watt bulb.

Also, remember, that uvb bulb needs to be on 12 hours a day, as does the basking, and no lights at night.

and the uvb bulb needs to be replaced every 6-9 months.

Awesome thanks ill definitely get a higher watt bulb. Thanks a lot you guys are awesome.

Quick question, why not the red bulb?
