PLEASE HELP ME

My chameleon is 9 months old he’s healthy and love direct sunlight, he eats regularly and poops regularly but out of nowhere last night this lump on the back of his leg swelled up huge, i’m not sure if he has to poop, or there’s something wrong with his bones please help if you know. i’m taking him to the vet in 4 days

if there’s any idea i can get to what’s happening here it will make me worry less and there’s more i can do to help my chameleon

I've never seen anything exactly like that. You will need an X-ray or a needle aspirate at your vets to see if it is a break or an abscess or something completely different.

thank you, he will be going to the vet here very shortly, he still eats and drinks like he’s healthy he’s just got that lump

It doesn't look like he wants to put weight on it. I'm glad you are taking him in for care.

Since you said it happened suddenly I would guess he maybe dislocated his hip somehow and it’s all swollen around it. Other possibilities may be an abscess or possibly he got like a hernia type thing and part of his organs moved into there? Totally guessing not even sure if it’s possible.

Is there anything he could've gotten his foot or leg stuck on? Looks like an injury of some sort but could also be an abscess from infection. Only a vet will be able to give an exact answer.

i’m not sure what he could have possibly done to obtain that type of injury, i hope it’s just minor swelling that can be fixed with vitamins or something but i’ll keep everyone updated on the what the vet says! never stop the calcium!!

I don’t think it’s a supplementing problem.

He may have fallen and still been holding on with that foot or got it stuck in something like that rope lattice.

The two possibilities are gout or a injury from a fall. If it is a injury from a fall then your chameleon most likely have a broken bone and then you have to consider the bact that it is due to Metabolic Bone Disease. So, the short answer it to get your chameleon to a vet as soon as possible! Hope this helps.
