Chuck,
was the pet store called Marks Ark or something like that? They have an awesome one there called that or something similar. Huge store with everything in there! Used to live in VA Beach and went there all the time! Hmm I miss that store.

Animal Jungle is the pet store we went to. One of the last great privately owned pet stores around. Petco and Petsmart have put so many of the smaller businesses under.

Chuck our lunch date was truly UnPHOgettable!! lmao!

Can't wait to see the tank. Remember to landscape it higher in the back then the front. That will add to the overall perception of depth and allow waste to move to the front of the tank for easier cleaning. You need a nice driftwood centerpiece for that cube!

Fish to consider with Discus. Rummy Nose, Rams and Cardinal Tetras.

They have a serval and a marmoset in there on display! Apparantly they have been longtime residents.

Discus huh? You always go for the good ones, Chuck!! However, I thought you would be an Arrowana type:p Sometimes I wish I never got rid of my aquariums and fish.............but most of the time I dont wish:D What a pain in the  when you move!! I always wanted a brackish water tank. I think the archer fish and puffers are pretty darn cool!!

Chuck-I always talk about you when I am with other forum members...;)

Well hell man I just figured a GW would be the next logical step ;)… Discus are really cool fish, when I worked at a fish store way back when, I set up a nice tall planted display tank with them. I have moved back to salt water though for now.

Yeah, I vote salt. Once you go salt you'll never go back. :D

A year or two ago, I'd have agreed with that more than any statement that could be made. Reef tanks were an addiction like no other! But I've set up two 125's planted and high light CO2, etc. One is a Tanganyikan tank, the other is a soft water community tank with a school of rummynose, threadfin rainbows, furcatas, and crystal red shrimp. They have become as fun as an Aussie reef. I think the biggest key for the aquatic hobby being fun long term is getting a passion for something new every decade or so.

I say you do a freshwater barracuda tank.

They are amazing in the way they hunt for food. They work a a team.

Im with you there, I used to have a brackish tank, fahaka puffers, figure 8 puffers, ceylons, greenspots, archer fish, and flounders.

Sooo cool to have.

Try Bichars. They are very cool African air breathing fish. They kind of look like snake heads but are way more active. I have a pair of albino Senegal Bichars that I have had for 5 or more years now. There Cool! Check them out!

How big of a Discus tank are you putting in a 55-180 gallon?

I just purchased a 93 gallon cube tank. I am doing my research on filters, lighting, etc. I will make a stand once I come up with a cool design. I have been talking to a guy named Hans in Baltimore that imports Stendker Discus from Germany. They apparantly are the best you can get. I will be going in a couple of weeks to check out his operation.
