Plant Lights Q&A

I am going to do a small series of questions with the guys from Sea of Green to try to get the best information we can about plant lighting.

What i would like to know is what seems to be the top 10-20things we would want to know about plant lighting in regards to chameleon care. Once we have a good list we can vote or something.

Cheers and you can see some pix of the chameleons they take care of at the shop in this thread.

The other day I found some HUGE hibiscus on sale from wal-mart for $6!! So, I got 3 or them!! :D I kept reading about how hibiscus need TONS of light & most do really poorly inside. So... I decided to get a little serious about my lighting.

I'm using a 4' double fixture with a 6500k T8 "daylight" bulb alongside my Reptisun T8 5.0 over my 30" wide x 20" deep x 30" tall cage at the moment. I figure if I could go beyond my cage about a foot or so on either side, it would help the light reach some of the lower branches & help the brightness all around.

I put one of my hibiscus in my cage about 2 weeks ago, it still looks great & I think it's actually growing in there. Hopefully it'll hold up. I'll report back if it's starts dying anytime!! :D
