Plant confusion!!

So I'm soon to get my panther, I'm starting to design the inside of the cage..

I'm thinking of getting a money tree, or something like a Ficus in a pot with eco-earth soil covered with river rocks..

Right now I have a UVB fixture and reptisun 5.0 and a regular household bulb for heat.

Do I need a special bulb to keep them alive?

Would it be a better choice to purchase a fake tall plant and use a real pothos to hang from the top?

Don't use money tree, its believed to be toxic. Ficus is fine, I have kept them without supplemental lighting but you may need a plant grow bulb for them.

Looks good so far. In regards to plants, some people use grow lights, I personally do not. Some people have problems with some plants and others don't. For example, I can keep Schlefferas alive which usually die from overwatering yet my Ficus is slowly dieing. It really just depends, pothos are usually fine. I'd definitely go with live plants though to keep humidity up. And don't go with money plants.

Sorry, I meant Schlefferas (I thought money tree was another name for it!)

Thanks - I'm going to try to find one at least 3-4' tall so it makes a nice playground for him!

I love them. They are super thick and great for babies. Make sure to get some vines and branches in there as well. Hopefully your Schleffera (dwarf umbrella plant) survives!
