I have being interesting in reptiles all my life, when i was younger i usually grab some wall lizard and try to pet them, wich was imposible. Years later i move to Panama, Central America(I lived in Chile; south america), here i discovered the house geckos, i did the same as the wall lizard but i failed (Mainly because my age:p). Well, some time ago i decided to "give a shot" and pet a Chameleon, a Veiled Chemelon. I have read a lot about this crea. and i am facinated, but i have a question, in the place where i live i will be able to mantein a Veiled Chameleon
Panama, Central America
"Days are hot, nights much cooler; temperatures range from 90 °F during the daytime 70 °F in the evening practically year-round. Humidity is always high at about 80 percent. The rainy season takes place between October and November, and the best months to visit are mid-December and late March."

Thank you, and srry for my bad english:eek:

It's possible to keep a veiled chameleon where your located, pending you can provide the proper heat graidient. Example: 85 degrees hot spot(basking spot) and 75 near the bottom of the cage. Chameleons need a proper heat graidient to cool down when they get too hot. Temperatures vary depending on the age of the animal, ie:Babies should be around 80 degrees, juviniles 83-85 and adults 85-90. Where are you going to place the cage, and what would the ambient room temperature be? There are several things to consider before taking on an exotic animal like a chameleon. Providing proper care can be difficult and takes dedication, time, and money. If you feel that any of those could be an issue, a chameleon may not be the best choice for you. What other reptiles/ pets have you "had luck" with in the past?

I will problably place it in a corner in my room. During night and early morning the temp is around 70/75 degrees and sometime can reach 78. During day 80/90 degrees and from time to time can reach 95... Humidity is always above 80%.
