Trioceros quadricornis quadricornis male, sub adult
Bought December 30th, part of wild-caught shipment from Cameroon, imported mid December.
When basking, has been hanging his right leg, could see no swelling, uses leg, has grip.
Handling: Only to give worming meds and weigh once a week.

I found the injury a couple of days ago. I'd been watching it closely and thought it might have been swollen so caught him up and had a quick look at the leg from the underside. The bony swelling is very noticeable when he is flipped over and you can see his belly.

Today I gave him his second dose of Panacur so took the opportunity to get some pictures of the leg while I weighed him. (Gained 7grams since last weight check.)

The injury looks old as there seems to be no soft-tissue swelling.

He really stresses over any handling, so I do not want to take him to the vet. They won't be able to do anything unless the leg is dislocated, but I really don't think it is. I think it is an old break.

I would greatly appreciate those who have experience with acclimating wild caughts to have a look and give an opinion. My fear is that the treatment will kill him with stress.

Here are some pictures taken today when I weighed him, and one of him seeming to put traction on it a day or two ago. He stretched his hurt leg on that vine for a few hours. The last picture is of him walking on a vine about a week ago with the hurt leg stretched out. You can see there isn't any swelling.

Thoughts please. I'm very hesitant to take him to the vet. I worry the examination will be far worse than leaving him alone.

Every time I take pictures of him, it just breaks my heart. All the bite marks I don't notice when I give him a quick look show up. It seems as if there are more and more injuries showing up. Maybe its my imagination. It just breaks my heart.
