Photo editing help?Or photo taking tips please

whats the biggest size you can make your avatar and how do I do it? Furthermore which program can make it that size and add colored text? I used paint on my avatar but it came out rather small I remember a member having a cham pic with his name on it using the program gimp and it was rather big, I want something similar to that. I want something like panther cham is the problem my camera thats why it looks so small? I never took photos so I dont know what I did wrong to make it so small and sucky sorry for my ignorance any help would be greatly appreciated.

I must admit that i am not very sure of what you are talking about.

In fact, the avatar (the picture next to your name in every post) is meant to be small, no matter what kind of photos you have. The maximum size of your custom image (avatar) is 100 by 100 pixels or 20.0 KB (whichever is smaller). That makes it pretty small, indeed.

The program i use is Paint.net . It's free, doesn't have any virus, and is not a trial. You should be able to do what you want pretty easily with it!

Hmm I guess its just that I have to zoom in LOL I hate my camera phone such a piece of crap how much do decent cameras go for now and days?

You can buy a small digital camera on Ebay for a few bucks! It all depends on how much you want to spend! But i believe that a regular cellphone could do a "good" job for an avatar, since avatars are very small. It wouldn't be perfect, but it should be good enough to use it!
