Phoenix Worms...What Size?

Hello guys!,
First off, I love this forum! I have learned so much in these past few day from just reading other threads! Anyhow, I have a veiled chameleon that I just got about 2 weeks ago. I am definitely interested in getting him some phoenix worms or silk worms to spice up his diet but I am unsure as to what size to purchase. Its really hard to determin when you're not looking at the feeders in person. My baby veiled chameleon is about 3 inches from snout to vent. Do any of you have any suggestions. Would love to hear them. Thanks!!

I just got silkworms from mulberry farms for my veiled cham. I got 3/4 of an inch and most are even smaller then that, your cham can easily handle those no doubt. My baby beardie who is even smaller than that made quick work of them too. No idea about phoenix worms though never used them..

The biggest phoenix worm is pretty small...

To me, the issue with those is longevity....you have to buy quite a lot to be economical and if you don't have a roomful of reptiles to eat them, you'll find many/most die off before you can use them.

If your animal is really small, then buy the smallest. Longevity seems to be based on how long they have to grow...small ones should be viable (if larger) longer...the biggest phoenix worm I've seen was roughly the length of small supers...a bit fatter, but really, very small.

I found that one of my chameleons (no longer with me) loved them, but Spike (still with me) had no interest in them...

I think some chameleons are "worm eaters" and some aren't...just a theory

He will do just fine with 'large' phoenix worms. The large worms are not very big.

I must say though... my chams have not really shown much interest.... BUT a mix is always good.
