Peg Board/Plastic cage builds...

Anyone have any advice on a peg-board cage? I'm thinking about going the plastic peg-board route. Anyone even know where to find this stuff in the hardware store?

Plastic peg board is fantastic. You can get it with varying size holes, and in different colours. However, its way expensive. I've only found it in specialty plastics stores, not regular hardware stores.

I too use regular presswood peg board (only comes with a couple size options for the holes) that I paint in various colours with zero VOC paint. (wood frame cages, plexi doors)
My first cage made this way is over ten years old and it has held up very well to water, repeated cleaning. I've repainted it twice in that time, because I scrub hard when cleaning and because I like to change the colour.

my cages are side-by-side in a row. By off-setting the holes, so its not a straight path, I dont find my panthers see each other. Males do not display to each other despite being right next to each other.

Get the board with smaller holes - the plastic type you can get very small holes, small enough that insects dont escape. The pegboard I use keeps crickets in (though they escape through my doors sometimes, cuz Im a poor carpenter and they're not tight), but mealworms and small roaches can get through the holes. Not a big deal for me, as I cup feed roaches and larva of any type doesnt last long (is eaten before it has chance to get out a hole).

Thanks Sandra, very helpful as always. I'm very interested in building one of these.

Anyone have pics?
