paper towels

I am using paper towels at the bottom of my vivarium (Glass bottom), but Im confused ! If your suppose to mist for a couple of minutes 2-3 times a day the paper towels are soaked & stay soaked . So how often do you need to change the towels ?
Seeing Im so new to this I want to do it right, I will be putting in a dripper later this week once I get the right live plant, so the water can drip in to that, or I will have a fish tank senario at the bottom of the Vivarium.

The paper toweling should dry out quite quickly. Most people use these purely to soak up SMALL amounts of splashed water, and for easy poop removal.

If you have significant water hitting the floor of the cage, you're going to need something to catch the water before it hits the floor, or a drainage system.

You could put a shallow bowl or tray (covered with screen if you are concerned about crickets or the chameleon falling in the water) under where the dripper drips will fall, thereby drastically reducing the amount of water that hits the paper towel / floor. This is essentially what I do, and it works very well.

Or you could drill (use the right bit or have it done professionally so as not to crack the glass) a hole in the bottom, to one side. Slightly elevate the other side. Water will flow downhill and exit through the hole, under which you'd have a funnel and bucket or similar.

I got a old container and covered it with net to stop the cham and any bugs falling in it.

When I mist, I lay a tea towel over the branch and spread it out. I find that the water runs off of the leaves and onto the tea towel and doesn't even get to the floor. I leave it in there for a few minutes to catch the main bulk of the dripping then remove it and dry it for the next misting session!

I leave folded paper towels at the bottom of the back wall - they stay damp and help with the humidity. I change them every couple of days or so. Also, rather than the plain glass bottom I sealed an offcut of vinyl flooring into the bottom using aquarium silicon. It works a treat! I didn't want a bare glass bottom in case Amy tried to dig her way out of the bottom! The cage bottom looks really nice and I can still easily mop up any spills and pick up poop!

Thanks, Because my Chameleon is young the Vivarium is only small 45x45x60cm so a good misting makes it like a swamp at the bottom, So a minute misting max & every thing is soaked.
I will go with the tea towel method untill I maybe import some shamwow from the States (Unless theres a UK equivalent) as I have read this is good.

white paper towels work excellent for me. I also use a smalll shallow bowl to set under about where most the water hits. The bowl has a mesh screen over it so the bugs and cham do not go in. This works well for me, the towels dry out quick and they make it a snap to clean.
