Are panthers known for eating plants? I know vieleds are. I've found my guy biting on a vine but never going after the leaves (fake). The reason being I have a heartleaf philodendron that would look amazing in my cage. I looked it up to find its poisonous. I also found that alot of people still do use them. I have not found any cases of an issue after using philodendron. I'm trying to wiegh the odds. What y'all think?

No you don't have to worry about Panthers eating plants in there enclosure like the veileds. I have yet to see one who has done this, but there may be some who do. I know from experience though I haven't seen mine touch a thing in the enclosure!

I thought this plant caused skin and eye irritations, which is why people weren't using it? I have another type of philodendron and I don't use it in any cages for that reason.

Wikipedia says: "Cases of mild dermatitis due to contact with the leaves have also been reported, with symptoms including vesiculation and erythema. The chemical alkyl resorcinol is believed to be responsible for the dermatitis in some people. Contact with Philodendron oils or fluids with the eyes have also been known to result in conjunctivitis."

I happen to have one panther who eats the Schefflera arboricola. Not one other panther I have eats plants, but for some reason this guy loves to eat the umbrella plant.
