Panther vs Veil SKIN

I have a question about their different skins.

I was wondering why Panthers skin seems to be more rubbery/oil like?
When i mist my panther the water beads right off of him as if he was dipped in oil, but my veil just looks like a soggy leaf.

Why is that?

I wonder if your veiled just happened to be ready to shed an older skin than the panther? I don't think any of the cham species have particularly different abilities to absorb water through their skin. Maybe its more a matter of the skin texture itself (smoother versus rougher beading?).

I just feel like their skins are different, perhaps because of the different colors a panther can have rather than my veiled, his skin feels tough and waxy and hers just feels like skin.

It doesn't have anything to do with their colors. Different species have different skin textures. Some are nubbier than others. For example, T. deremensis has a very smooth suede-like skin and F. verrucosus has a much more "warty" skin.
