my 5 month old panther had his mouth open all the time, so i lowered the wattage of the bulbs. now i have a basking temp of around 84-87 and a gradient temp fropm 78-82. his mouth hasnt opened since. i just want to make sure that tempertaure is alright. ive heard if the temperature is too cold they can get a respiratory disease.

yes that is fine now. you have to be very careful with chameleons adnd temperatures especially when they are one year or younger.

Those temps a perfect! I generally keep my warmest spot at about 91 but theres tons a foliage so he can easily track down shade. He normally sits on on spot to bask thats normally about 87-89 degrees.

I find that panthers don't need high temps. In the summer when there out if it reaches the high 80's they run for shade and stay there until late afternoon or until I cool them down with a long misting. More so with the hatchlings low to mid 80's max for them or they will turn white and start to dehydrate.
