Panther: last 3 days digging

Hey all.

So my female panther (cupcake) who is about 18 months has recently spent some cage time with my male panther (Calvin).

After about 3 to 4 days of receptive colours and continues mating she did the gravid thing, turned blacked and just wanted out.

So now the last 3 days she has been digging in her lay box (washed sand) but she hasn't really dug any laying holes, just little holes and kind of just moving the sand around. I've watched it cause I have the gopro on time lapse. Haven't disturbed her at all.

Is this normal, or could she not be happy with the sand?

Thanks for any helps

Does anyone have advise or information for me? Need to know my little darling will be ok

When was the mating? And you might want to look at a different substrate for her to lay in. I am not sure how well washed sand will hold for her to do a tunnel. My females have always laid their eggs at the bottom of a three gallon bucket that was filled almost to the top with a mixture of sterile potting soil and moss that is very slightly damp. It holds a tunnel great and I have never had a problem with them laying. I have had females dig holes for 4 or 5 days before finally digging a tunnel and laying.

Thanks all for the response. I got scared that something was wrong but today I found 15 eggs :)

Eggs are a good sign!! Now just get ready to wait forever - well it only seems like forever - and you will have the most fun of all. Hatching babies it amazing. I never get tired of it.

It's only been a couple of days and I can't stop checking them. I can tell this will be a long wait hahaha.

A long and miserable wait! But it is such a thrill to check and find a little baby, SO worth the wait!
