Can any one tell me if this lil guy is close to hatching? Laid on 1-1-14

Only the cham inside knows that answer. You could candle it. Or just wait for it to sweat. It should hatch in a month or so. A clutch of mine from last December just started hatching on the eigth of this month. I hope the purple dot is manmade.
