panther egg problems

Hey everyone.

I had three clutches (three different females matings spaced 2 weeks apart). The second and third clutches hatched out just fine. The first one is proving to be problematic.

It appears that the eggs will sweat like normal but no slitting and emergence. When I opened up the eggs, there were fully developed chams (nice size too) but tongues hanging out.

When I compared the egg shell to the other clutches it appeared to be a bit thicker, but that could be a result of many factors.

Well so far 5 eggs sweat and no sliting, 2 sweat and produced fine hatchlings.

There are 12 more eggs to go in this clutch (its been 10 months since they were layed now).

Has anyone seen this on such a large scale??
All clutches were incubated the same!

I figured I should also mention.

I wait 3 days (the eggs starting to colapse) before opening them up. There seems to be more yolk remaining than the other two clutches, but then again its not as if the material has had the chance to be exposed to air long enough to evaporate/or get used up.

Slitting eggs and neonates with substantial yolk sacs suggests premature births. Possible due to an incubator heat spike or overhydration of the eggs.

Its strange because my system for preparing every clutch is exactly the same (from containers to water:vermiculite ratio to temp).

Everything was treated the exact same and these eggs are now 10months 4 days out of the female.

Guess I will see what happens with the rest (two have hatched out fine from the same clutch).
