Panther Chameleons

A couple questions regarding panther chameleons. I am hoping to get a pair of them eventually but I got to thinking... what is the reason for them to be so expensive compared to veileds? I realize veils are more common and such but is this the only reason? I'm not sure what they are in the US but here in Canada they seem to range from $250-350/chameleon. Just curious!
Also, anyone know any breeders in Ontario who specialize in bright coloured lines of panthers?

colors simply put. The bloodlines that produce the BAM! colors draw the $$$, so as long as ppl will pay for those reds, blues, yellows, etc... So breeders are pricing what the demand will allow. Nothing wrong with it, if someone is willing to pay to get the possibility of a certain look then sale it for what the market will bear.

I'm not an expert, but I think it has also something to do with the number of eggs laid. In general veiled chameleons lay more eggs then panthers.

Like anything, supply and demand.

Exactly that. Panthers are more colourful meaning theyre more appealing. All of the answers above are true, less eggs, better colours and better tempered. Of course veiled owners will disagree! lol
