Panther cham (white overlay when sleeping)

My 5 month old panther cham has a white overlay when he is sleeping, He just started this about a week ago. He used to sleep with his eyes completely shut. I thought it was just gunk in his eyes, but when i wake him the white overlay flips up and his eye looks fine, anyone seen this?

Looks like the innner lid, but I wonder why he isn't shutting it all the way.

Howdy Justin,

I think you may be seeing a combination of two things.

1.) Chameleons can rotate their eyes away from the openings.
2.) He is not closing his eyelids while sleeping.

Watch closely while you wake him up. You should see his eye(s) swivel into position. If he continues to not shut his eyelids at bedtime for another day or two then a Vet visit is in order. There may be an infection involved .
