is there a liquid diet recipe and tips on feeding a cham that has an abcess at the tongue? vet has me giving subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics and pain meds. he is in serious need of calories/nutrition, but i don't want to accidentally deliver anything into the lungs instead of the gut. help :(:(

Check with the vet and see if he carries carnivore care. It is a dry powder you mix with water. If you are needing to force feed it is the most balanced and healthy one I know of. Best of luck, let us know how it does.

thanks to all for valuable advice! was able to get 2+ ml crushed crickets in water.I wondered if it was possible to gastric feed a cham! antibiotics may be kicking in, he was able to swallow ever so slowly today.

Great to find this forum.:)

try allen's repashy mix. chameleons may injest it as well, its for all fruit eating animals, as for the protein. you could possibly grind some legumes and mix that in with the repashy? jmo im not to sure what you could do for the protien. maybe a small amount of dog food or such.
